3D is a lovely effect on a film if used correctly, but to me, is still only used by studios as a gimmick. With a film like Avatar, the feeling and otherworldy experience truly was enhanced by the extra dimension, this being a perfect example of when and where 3D is most effective. But as with any new feature, it will be used and exploted to just get more punters through the door and make them pay more money per ticket.

I say nay to the 3D, sorry. A film to me is about the characters and story, not effects,

Hi guys, I’m a film producer, currently considering a new 3D project. I wanted to canvass some opinion on the format, having never used it before. I’d be interested to hear what people’s thoughts are on 3D and whether it is the future of film or merely a flash in the pan? Anyone have any [...]
